CIRCLE OF PEACE, ITALY

The Marymount School in Italy formed a human circle of more than 700 people which included students, faculty and staff who all joined hands in a display of school unity to celebrate International Peace Day on September 21st. This activity included a moment of silence where everyone said a prayer for World Peace.

Well done to Sally Cameron and everyone from the school for coming together in a strong show of Unity.

We look forward to the quilt visiting this school next year.

Looking for Peace

The description of the Italian Flag:

Three equal vertical bands of green (hoist side), white, and red. According to Ancient and Heraldic traditions much symbolism is associated with colors. The colors on the Italian flag represent the following:

  • White – peace and honesty
  • Red – hardiness, bravery, strength & valour
  • Green – hope, joy and love and in many cultures have a sacred significance
