BURKINA FASO, International School of Ouagadougou

“Greetings from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Thank you for letting us participate in this Peace Quilt  project. This picture is by Claierose Soriano a 5th grader at the International School of Ouagadougou,” Angel Prince, Elementary Principal.

Claierose says: “We all wish for Peace because… Friendship is happiness, happiness is being fair, being fair is to love, to love is to care, to care is to have fun, to have fun is to teach, to teach is to listen, to listen is to be respectful, to be respectful is to have peace.”

Thank you so much to Claierose and everyone involved from Burkina Faso.

The Burkina Faso flag was adopted on August 4, 1984. In August 1984 there was a coup, and the country’s name was changed from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso and the new  Burkina Faso flag was adopted. Burkina Faso roughly translates into “The land of honourable men.”
