NAMIBIA, International School Walvis Bay.


Here we have a selection of the many drawings/paintings received by post from the students in The International School of Walvis Bay,Namibia. Thank you to Henda Meyer Principal and all the students  for  their great works. Choosing one to go on the Quilt is no easy task!

“The kids got so excited by this project and they submitted many pieces of art work. ” Henda Meyer, Principal.

The school was founded in 2008 by a group of dedicated parents in the town with a vision. They saw a need for a highly academic school,put their heads together and started this school. The school began with 35 students and  has 260 on the books today .It is truly a school of many nationalities though most of the students are Namibian residents.


























Namibian Flag History:
The Namibian flag was adopted on March 21, 1990 when Namibia, then known as South West Africa, gained independence from South Africa.









The largest non-subglacial underground lake in the world is Dragon`s Breath Cave,Namibia,with an area of almost 2 hectares (5 acres). It is almost as deep as the Statue of Liberty (84 m) is high.
