BELIZE, San Pedro High school

29 Mar

Here we have the chosen drawing/painting to represent the students and young people of the San Pedro High School, Belize. The school held a competition from which there were many wonderful designs created.

Their message: We all wish for peace for better, living, people, union.

Thank you to all the students involved and to Emil Vasquez, the Principal at this school, for bringing this project to fruition for Belize.

Belize Flag Meaning:

On the white circle is an inner green circle consisting of 50 olive leaves. The 50 leaves represent the year 1950, which was when Belize, which was formerly known as British Honduras, began its quest for independence from Britain. The country was renamed Belize in June of 1973. When independence was realised, the two red stripes were added to the country’s previous flag. The Belize flag represents the unity of the nation’s people.
