SUDAN, Khartoum International School

This drawing has been created by Bethel Tafere,age 15 from the Khartoum International School in Khartoum, Sudan.

Bethel says: “We all wish for Peace because Peace brings the World together.”

Khartoum (Arabic: الخرطوم‎ Al Ḫarṭūm) is the capital and largest city of Sudan and of Khartoum State. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile flowing west from Ethiopia. The location where the two Niles meet is known as “al-Mogran“, meaning the Confluence.

Interesting Sudan Flag Facts:
The Sudan flag’s design was the result of a nationally held flag competition and it is based on the Arab Liberation Flag of Egypt.
