GERMANY, H.I.S Heidelberg International school

26 Mar

Thank you to Allyn Raw, Deputy Director and PYP Coordinator of the Heidelberg International School in Germany for submitting this lovely, colourful drawing on behalf of their 10 year old student in Grade 5.

This student gives a very direct message:

“We all wish for Peace because I want to have a good and better World.”

Thank you to everyone involved, to all the Grade 5 students for their participation and to all staff who brought the project to fruition for Germany.

Heidelberg International School is “dedicated to making a difference.”

German Flag Meaning:
The colours black, red and gold have been associated with Germany since the middle ages, but the current German flag colours are traced back to early 19th century volunteers, who fought for the country in the Napoleonic wars. The colours are based on the soldiers’ uniforms which were black coats with red braid and gold buttons.

The colours of the German flag now represent the unification of Germany.
