BULGARIA, Zlartarski School

23 Mar

We have received three drawings from the Zlartarski School, Sofia, Bulgaria. The first drawing has been created by Simeon Stoilov from Grade 8 .

Simeon says: “We all wish for peace because peace is colourful.”

The second design has been created by Kristina Georgieva also from Grade 8.

Kristina says: “We all wish for Peace because we want to make the world a better place.”

Finally the third drawing has been completed by Petar Lltchev from Grade 9.

Petar’s message: “We all wish for peace because it makes our world better.”

One of these will be chosen to represent young people of Bulgaria on the Schools’ International Peace Quilt. Thank you to Anna Joukivskaia, school counsellor and coordinator for this project at Zlartarski School and to all the students taking part. All great drawings so the decision will be a difficult one!

Bulgarian Flag Meaning:
The white and red colours of the Bulgarian flag originate from the flag of Russia used during the Russo-Turkish War of 1878. The green stripe replaced a blue stripe because Bulgaria was developed as an agricultural country after its independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1878.
