CHINA, Shekou International

14 Feb

Here we have a colourful drawing created by 10 year old Angel Sun. Angel’s drawing was chosen to represent her fellow students of the Shekou International School.

Angel’s message is simply “Peace.”

Very well done to Angel and all the students who contributed to the project.

Additional thanks to Amy Smith, Art teacher for making it all possible.

“I hope that everything is going well with the quilt. Thank you for inviting us to be a part of it!” Amy

Chinese Flag History:
The Chinese flag was adopted on October 1, 1949 after the Chinese Civil War. It was designed by Zeng Liansong, an economist and talented artist. His work was one of more than 3,000 plus entries received for a Chinese flag design competition. The design underwent a few changes and was finally approved by the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on September 27, 1949.
